Pocket Watch

Pocket watch found during surface collections.

Pocket watches were the most fashionable way to keep time in the 19th century with them being a popular gift for those entering into adulthood. The pocket watch found on site is in the style called a full hunter pocket watch. A full hunter pocket watch is a watch where the cover is on a hinge to cover the clock face secured with a latch that was released using a small button in the crown of the watch.
