Excavations of 1998

Bags filled with artifacts found during the 1998 excavations.

Original archaeological research was done on the site in 1998 by Trinity University Professor Mary Van Buren and a small group of students who participated in a Special Topics class. Areas around the site were selected and then excavated by the students. Reports were then written by the student groups. Very few artifacts turned up during these excavations however, and it was deemed unnecessary for future research. It was then abandoned as a research site and left for the Trinity and San Antonio communities as an empty field.
