The Tomás Rivera Center: The Nation’s First Latino Research Institute Comes to San Antonio.

This digital exhibit delves into the Tomás Rivera Center (TRC), the nation’s first research institution focusing on the Latino/Hispanic community. The Center originally opened in Claremont, California in 1985 but opened their Texas location in 1988. The Texas office was housed on Trinity University’s campus from 1988-1995. The Center provided high quality research to policymakers to create legislatures surrounding the Hispanic community. 

The exihibit will explore the topics of research explored by the Tomás Rivera Center, the types of products produced, for whom they were intended for, any lasting influences the Center had on the San Antonio and Trinity community, and the relationship between Trinity University and the Tomás Rivera Center itself.
