Trinity University Latin American Club (TULAC)

The Mirage, 1948

Similar to Los Campeadores, TULAC also hosted social and educational events, particularly those that would foster intercultural exchange and awareness of Latin America. Its membership was mostly Mexican-American and Latin-American students, some international students. TULAC was also interested in connecting with other students out of the Trinity bubble, inviting and co-sponsoring events that would include Incarnate Word University, Saint Mary’s, and other San Antonio colleges. They were a very active group, always fundraising and planning new events, and were sure to have a steady presence in The Trinitonian and The Mirage. After a big ball and pageant celebrating Pan-American Day in January 1955, TULAC changed its name to Pan American Club.
